Dual function machine to feed and bed
Looking to streamline operations without compromising performance or reliability?
By performing two essential jobs – feeding and bedding – Combi-Bale delivers unmatched versatility and value for money across livestock enterprises. Designed to help streamline operations without compromising performance or reliability, it handles both round and square bales and makes it easy to switch between feeding and bedding mode. It combines efficient bedding performance with controlled feeding capability in one machine, helping reduce labour and improve flexibility across daily livestock routines.
Feeding and bedding performance.
Combi-Bale is designed to make both bedding and feeding simple and effective. Rotors turn clockwise to spread straw 8–15 metres / 26-49 ft, while anti-clockwise rotation utilises the bladed edge of the tines to chop and feed haylage or silage. This gives operators a practical way to move between two core jobs with one machine.
Built for versatility.
With compatibility for both round and square bales, side-mounting available for feeding along a fence or passage, and upgraded standard features including the HF Manifold and HD Motor, Combi-Bale is built to deliver flexibility, performance and ease of use across a wide range of livestock applications.

What Our Customers Say
Spread-a-Bale’s Combi-Bale has been a fantastic addition to our feeding regime. The way it chops the round bale silage and leaves it fluffed up is much better for the ewes and the ewes’ lambs to get into. It’s much easier for them to eat rather than being in the bale. For the shy eaters, it is brilliant as they don’t have to spend so much time picking at the bale. The fact that it can be used to bed down with straw as well as feeding haylage is genius as it really is two machines in one!
It’s also incredibly user friendly and causes no disturbance to the animals – if anything, they know what’s happening and actually come towards the feeder while it’s in use. Switching between feeding and bedding is as simple as moving one lever, and we’ve noticed significantly less dust compared with using a chopper blower.

Spread-a-Bale is the best machine on the farm, there’s no question about it says Perthshire beef producer, Crawford McLaren. “Since swapping manual straw spreading for Spread-a-Bale, we are making 50% straw savings. We used to manually roll out 3,000 round bales a year, nowadays we’re down to 1,500 bales
